Summer Trip to Cobourg Beach

Cobourg Beach

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog!

This summer my mom and I had a couple of ideas of some new summer trips we’d like to do with my brother/sister, and going to a white beach close to home was one of them! My two little cousins, Ese & Onofe came to spend a couple of days with us so we decided that it’d be perfect to spend a Saturday at the beach!

I thought it’d be perfect to share with you our adventure to Cobourg beach so get a cup of tea and enjoy the read!

Packing for the Beach

Before we started our journey to Cobourg beach we had to obviously pack a bag.

When going to the beach there are definitely some beach must haves…

1. Beach umbrellas

This is great for making sure that you have shade at the beach. It is also very portable and easy to throw in the trunk of your car.

2. Foldable chairs

This so important because you may not always want to sit on the sand.

3. Cooler

Make sure to bring a cooler to load up all your favourite snacks and drinks.

4. Frisbee, beach ball etc.

I totally recommend bringing some beach games and toys so that you have that option to get active at the beach

5. Change of clothes

Sometimes in the evening you may feel sticky or after being the water you might want to change. So it’s always good to bring an extra pair of clothing.

6. Bucket/shovel etc.

It’s the beach, you can’t leave without building a sand castle!

A summer trip to Cobourg

From Ajax, ON the drive out to Cobourg is around 1 hour depending on traffic. It was a nice drive and while we drove it was fun to pick out little things that we saw along the way. We also discovered a lot of little places in between that we never even knew about such as, Port Darlington, Newcastle & Newtonville.

Scenic town

Before getting to the beach we got to drive through Cobourg’s little scenic town. I loved driving through this historical one street town. The town is so worth exploring! It is filled with little boutiques, bakeries, and cafes/restaurants!

Port Hope

White Sands of Cobourg Beach

The beach was beautiful! The sand was white and the water clean and blue. It was definitely the place to be. The day at the beach consisted of a couple of activities such as…

Time in the Water

Time in the Sand

Building Sandcastle

and of course…

Time at the Pier

Lighthouse
Boardwalk
Boats

In all, this was for sure a summer trip worth having. I would definitely go again and I can’t wait to go back! So if your looking for a white beach in Ontario…why not drive up to Cobourg and experience what it has to offer!

Till next time,
