4 Bible Verses for every University Student

Hey everyone! I am so glad you are back to read the blog. I recently just started school and… WOW, can I already tell that this is going to be a busy year 2 of university!

As a Christian girl navigating my way through university & living away from home I have realized that between studying, trying to make friends, and everything else life can be stressful.

I continue to learn every day as I do my routine that I really do need God as a college student and as a young adult in general. In my first year, there were many times where studying would get the best of me or just the thought of what the future holds for me would stress me out but I realized that God has it all under control.

This summer and as I’ve been preparing myself for the second year I have put together a list of 4 bible verses that I feel have really helped to comfort me, reassure me, and remind of the promises that God has for my life.

Here are my top 4 bible verses for every college student. I hope you enjoy the read and that you find motivation for your university/college journey through these verses.

Don’t be worried about anything, but in everything through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God.

Philipians 4:6

All throughout my first year, my mom was amazing. She was always there as a guide and to help me through tough times. I am a “good student” I would say; I study really hard but I also get very nervous before a test or exam. But, my mom reminded me of this verse during my 1st year of uni. She told me that I don’t need to be worried about anything or ever feel alone because God is always with me every step of the way. He wants me (us) to talk to him! I think this is amazing because being able to cast our worries on to the Lord helps us to remember that He doesn’t want us to hold things on our shoulders but that He is there to hold it for us.

It is amazing because as a continued to leave everything in God’s hands I eventually begin to see how God hands were in everything.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jerimiah 29:11

Yes, yes this a classic verse but it so true. For me, this truly is an assurance & promise from God that He holds the plans for my future in His hands. As I go through the young adult experience I realize how easy it is for me to think I am in control. However, in reality, God is in control and when you remember that He literally holds your hopes, dreams, and future in His hands then you are filled with relief and a huge weight is lifted off your shoulders.

“Trust in the Lord with all you heart, and lean not on your own undestanding; In all your way acknowlege Him, and He will make your path staright.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

This had always been one of my favorite bible verses. It applies to not just university life but life as a whole. Essentially, this verse reminds me of 2 points.

  • To lean not on my own understanding but on God’s understanding. When things are not going my way or as planned I remember that God is in control of my life and that I am living out of His plans for me not my plans for me. Remember: GOD KNOWS BEST!
  • Secondly, it also gives me comfort that as long as I trust in God and follow His will then He will make my path straight and take care of all the details that I don’t see falling into place.

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self dicipline.”

2 Timothy 1:7

This is amazing! This verse proclaims that the Spirit that God has given us makes us stronger than ever. SO as you navigate throughout day-to-day activities remember God has given us the power to do great things, love to show to others/ourselves, and self-discipline to make the right choices.

In all, I believe that these verses are good reminders for any university/college student.

But remember to give thanks to God for all He has done. Sometimes we get caught up in asking God for things & we forget to give thanks for all that He has done and is doing.

Thanks for reading! If you have any bible verses that you find inspiring put them down below in the commments I’d love to read them.

Till next time,
